Follow-Up Order: Nordex Scores With Another Major Order For Spanish Wind Farm Cluster

Hamburg, Germany - The renewable project developer Aquila Clean Energy has placed another major order with the wind turbine manufacturer Nordex.

In addition to the 21 turbines with a total capacity of 124 MW ordered by Aquila Clean Energy for the Baza wind farm cluster in June 2024, Nordex will supply an additional 24 N163/5.X turbines with a total capacity of 141.6 MW for this complex. Like the first, the second order also includes a Premium Service contract with a term of 20 years.

Nordex will install the Delta4000 turbines on 108-meter tubular steel towers from 2025. Located in the southern Spanish province of Granada, the Baza cluster will consist of 45 N163/5.X turbines with a total capacity of over 265 MW once it is commissioned in 2026.

Following the award of the first contract in June 2024, both parties agreed that Aquila Clean Energy has the option to increase the total number of turbines in the Baza cluster by up to 24 additional turbines until August 31, 2024.

“We are pleased that Aquila Clean Energy has fully exercised the additional option for the construction of the Baza wind farm cluster and has ordered a further 24 turbines from Nordex. This is a great incentive for us to successfully implement this extensive project in the interests of our regular customer, and to fulfil the trust placed in us,” says Nordex Chief Sales Officer Patxi Landa.

In its corporate history, the Nordex Group has installed wind turbines with a total capacity of around 52,000 MW (52 GW) in over 40 markets. In 2023, the wind turbine manufacturer generated sales of around EUR 6.5 billion. The RENIXX Group currently employs more than 10,200 people. The manufacturing network includes plants in Germany, Spain, Brazil, India, the USA and Mexico.

Nordex shares are currently trading at EUR 14.09 (14:15, 31.07.2024, Stuttgart Stock Exchange). This is an increase of 35 percent compared to the price at the turn of the year. This puts Nordex at the top of the RENIXX ranking as the best-performing stock in 2024 to date.
