Nordex Continues Growth Path: New Large Orders from Germany and Turkey Totaling Nearly 600 MW
Hamburg, Germany – Wind turbine manufacturer Nordex has secured additional large orders by the end of the first half of the year. The Hamburg-based company has won contracts totaling nearly 600 megawatts (MW).
Home market drives growth: 435 MW from major order by UKA in Germany
The Nordex Group has taken another significant step in its long-standing partnership with UKA (Umweltgerechte Kraftanlagen). Under an existing framework agreement, the project developer has ordered 64 wind turbines with a total capacity of 435.2 MW. This order brings UKA’s total order book to 226 wind turbines with a capacity of 1.5 GW within just one and a half years.
The orders include turbines from the 6 MW class: 52 turbines of the N175/6.X model and 12 units of the N163/6.X type. With a total capacity of 435.2 MW, these orders are part of the ongoing framework agreement between both companies. The projects are located in Brandenburg, Thuringia, North Rhine-Westphalia, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Lower Saxony. Construction and commissioning of the turbines will take place depending on the project and location in 2026 and 2027.
“These orders represent another important milestone in our strong partnership with UKA. We are delighted that UKA has once again chosen our latest N175/6.X turbine for the majority of its projects across Germany,” said José Luis Blanco, CEO of the Nordex Group.
Turkish Wind Market gains momentum: Nordex receives 160 MW order from Efor Holding
Nordex remains on a growth track internationally as well. In Turkey, the company secured an order for 23 turbines of the N163/6.X type with a total capacity of 160 megawatts for the Yellice project. The client is Yellice Üretim A.S., a subsidiary of Efor Holding. The wind farm will be built in the Sivas province at an altitude of over 1,800 meters. Construction is scheduled to start in spring 2026.
Ibrahim Akkus, Chairman of the Board of Efor Holding, said: “The Yellice Wind Power Plant stands as a cornerstone of our long-term renewable energy strategy, with a particular emphasis on expanding our wind energy portfolio. Re-engaging with Nordex Group on this landmark initiative reaffirms our commitment to building resilient partnerships that accelerate the green transformation.”
Efor Holding is a long-term customer of the Nordex Group. Ender Ozatay, VP Region Turkey and Middle East at Nordex Group, added: “Yellice will further strengthen the long-standing relationship between our two companies. The project Yellice is a part of Türkiye’s latest wind auction YEKA WPP-2024 and is our third YEKA project, underscoring our continued commitment to Türkiye’s renewable energy goals.”
