PNE Strengthens Market Position in France With Sale of Two Wind Farms - Market Momentum Accelerates - New Wind Power Records

Cuxhaven (Germany) - The PNE Group continues its growth trajectory in France, further expanding its activities in the wind energy sector. The recent sale of several projects highlights the strategic importance of the French market for the Cuxhaven-based project developer—and coincides with a phase of increasing momentum in the French wind market.

With the sales of the “Clermont-en-Argonne” and “Genouillé” wind farms to JP Energie Environnement and Sorégies, the PNE Group consolidates its market position in France. While these projects provide fresh impetus for the energy transition, the French wind sector is simultaneously reaching record feed-in levels—both onshore and offshore.

PNE sells two wind farm projects in France

The PNE Group has sold two wind farm projects in France with a combined capacity of 25.7 MW, thereby further expanding its market activities in the neighboring country. The buyers are the French energy companies JP Energie Environnement (JPEE) and Sorégies.

The “Clermont-en-Argonne” wind farm in the Grand Est region has an installed capacity of 14.4 MW. Developed and construction-ready by PNE France, the project was sold to JPEE in July. Construction began in September 2025, with commissioning scheduled for the end of 2026. JPEE will build and operate the wind farm independently going forward.

Located in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region is the already operational “Genouillé” wind farm, which PNE sold to Sorégies. The park has an installed capacity of 11.3 MW, with turbines feeding electricity into the grid since July 2025. The project was also developed and built by PNE France. On behalf of Sorégies, Energy Consult France—a company within the PNE Group—will assume operational management going forward.

The transactions were supported by Alaïa Advisory, which advised PNE on structuring and execution.

“We are delighted to have found two buyers who are as committed to the expansion of renewable energies as we are,” said PNE CEO Heiko Wuttke. He added that the sale demonstrates the importance of the French market for the PNE Group and reflects the high quality of work delivered by PNE France.

In addition to these two projects, PNE also sold the “Sundern-Allendorf” wind farm during the current half-year. “Project sales are progressing as planned, so we continue to expect that we will meet our guidance for 2025,” Wuttke said. The PNE Group is one of the most experienced developers of wind and photovoltaic projects in Europe.

France’s wind market in motion - new feed-in records The French wind market is developing with growing momentum. With approximately 23,500 MW of installed onshore wind capacity, France already ranks among the largest wind energy markets in Europe. According to government targets, capacity is expected to reach at least 33,000 MW (33 GW) by 2030.

Offshore wind energy development is also gaining pace. Three offshore wind farms with a total capacity of around 1,500 MW are already fully connected to the grid. At the “Eoliennes en Mer des îles d’Yeu et de Noirmoutier” (EMYM) project, currently under construction, the first turbines have already begun feeding electricity into the grid.

Meanwhile, actual electricity generation is rising significantly: on January 28, 2025, a new daily record of just over 400 million kWh of onshore wind power was set. Offshore, an all-time high of 38.3 million kWh was recorded on October 4, 2025.
