France’s Wind Power Capacity Reaches 25,500 MW: VSB France Brings Eoliennes de Tortebesse Wind Farm Online

Dresden (Germany) - VSB France has successfully connected its largest wind farm to date, Eoliennes de Tortebesse, in the Puy-de-Dôme department. The wind farm comprises 15 Vestas V110 wind turbines with a total capacity of 32.4 MW.

With an expected annual production of around 78 GWh, approximately 31,000 people can be supplied with electricity and about 23,000 tons of CO2 can be saved annually.

The wind farm is VSB France’s first project in the Puy-de-Dôme department and underscores the growing importance of onshore wind energy in the country. France’s installed wind power capacity currently stands at around 25,500 MW. Eoliennes de Tortebesse is currently VSB France’s largest wind farm in operation.

“With 15 wind turbines, we are making a tangible contribution to the regional energy transition and showcasing the strong potential of the French onshore wind market for sustainable power generation,” said Maël Lagarde, Managing Director of VSB France.

During the 15-month construction phase, VSB France worked closely with regional partners. The project was fully financed by CIC Corporate & Institutional Banking. In addition to project development, VSB France also took on construction management as well as technical and administrative operations management.
