Focus on Flexibility Markets and Battery Storage: Emsys VPP and Pure Energy Launch Joint Ancillary Services Marketing

Oldenburg/Düsseldorf (Germany) - Emsys VPP and Pure Energy are deepening their collaboration, which has been in place since 2016, and are jointly entering the ancillary services market.

In doing so, the partners are expanding their existing cooperation in direct marketing to include another business segment that is growing in importance for system stability. The Emsys VPP Virtual Power Plant will be deployed, enabling Pure Energy to market ancillary services in Germany for the first time.

In addition to flexibility from wind and solar power plants, the focus is primarily on battery storage systems. These are intended to provide additional system services and support the integration of renewable energies. At the same time, Pure Energy is planning to enter further European markets, including Estonia. Emsys VPP already has experience there in connecting and controlling assets for wholesale and ancillary services markets.

Pure Energy views this step as strategically important. “Entering the balancing power market in Germany and other European markets is a high priority for us. With emsys VPP, we have a reliable partner at our side who complements us perfectly with their wealth of experience and technical expertise,” says founder and CEO Anduvap Servet Akgun.

Emsys VPP relies on existing partnerships when expanding into new markets. The goal is to efficiently implement regulatory, technical, and market-related requirements. “Long-standing cooperation creates trust and speed – both of which are crucial when entering new markets. Together with our customers, we develop solutions that reliably meet the requirements of transmission system operators,” explains Dr. Ulrich Focken, Managing Director of Emsys VPP.

With this intensified cooperation, both companies aim to advance the marketing of flexibility from renewable energies across Europe. The move underscores their ambition to contribute to the stability and transformation of energy systems.
