Energy Transition in Poland Gains Momentum: Goldbeck Solar Secures EPC Contract for 722-MWp Solar Complex in Poland

Komorniki (Poland) – The energy transition in Poland is continuing to gain momentum. Goldbeck Solar Polska has secured the EPC contract for a large-scale photovoltaic project in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. The Sid?owo-Kikowo-Dobrowo project comprises three solar parks with a combined capacity of 722 MWp.

The project consists of the individual plants Sidłowo (290 MWp), Kikowo (235 MWp) and Dobrowo (197 MWp). In addition to the solar parks, the contract also includes the associated high- and medium-voltage infrastructure as well as grid connection via the STR LKO 400/110 kV substation. A key feature is the first-time direct connection of a utility-scale PV plant in Poland to the 400-kV high-voltage grid of the transmission system operator Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne.

Goldbeck Solar will act as general contractor, taking on the full EPC scope and thus being responsible for the planning, procurement and construction of all three plants, including the grid infrastructure. The company will also coordinate implementation and commissioning.

“This is an enormous achievement for Goldbeck Solar Polska,” said Managing Director Steffen Emmerich. Taking on such a comprehensive contract underscores the company’s ability to deliver complex large-scale renewable energy projects.

The project is part of the “Virya Renewables Poland” initiative, led by Virya Energy, Optima Wind and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The platform aims to expand renewable energy in Poland, with a planned project pipeline exceeding 2 GW.

For Poland’s energy transition, the project marks another step towards increasing the share of renewables in the electricity mix and highlights the growing importance of large-scale photovoltaic projects in the region.
