Qualitas Energy secures 126 MW in onshore wind auction

Berlin, Germany – Qualitas Energy has secured awards for three onshore wind projects with a total capacity of 126 megawatts in the February auction round conducted by the Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur). The projects comprise 18 wind turbines in Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, and Baden-Württemberg.

Once operational, the facilities are expected to generate enough green electricity annually to supply around 84,000 households, thereby contributing to the regional energy transition.

The auction was once again significantly oversubscribed: 924 bids with a total volume of 7,858 MW competed for an auction volume of only 3,445 MW. Nevertheless, Qualitas Energy was able to successfully position itself in a highly competitive market environment.

Johannes Overbeck, CEO of Qualitas Energy Deutschland GmbH, said: “The auction results underline the strong demand and intense competition in the German onshore wind sector, as well as the strong momentum toward further accelerating the energy transition in Germany.”

According to Qualitas Energy, the award confirms its strong implementation capabilities and solid market position in the German wind energy sector. In Germany, the company has a portfolio of more than 100 wind energy projects as well as a development pipeline of around 3 GW.
