Vestas Gains Traction in Canada: Vestas Secures 186 MW Major Order for Forêt Domaniale Wind Project in Québec - Stock up 14% Since Start of the Year

Portland (USA) - Vestas has received a 186 MW order from EDF Power Solutions North America for the Forêt Domaniale wind project in the Canadian province of Québec.

The order includes the supply of 28 EnVentus V162-6.2 MW wind turbines and two V162-6.0 MW units. It also comprises a ten-year service agreement. Once operational, the wind farm is expected to supply electricity to tens of thousands of households while supporting local value creation and employment.

According to Vestas, the new order is linked to several EnVentus projects by EDF Power Solutions in Québec in 2025, including the 275 MW Madawaska project and the 124 MW Haute-Chaudière wind project. Together, these projects amount to nearly 600 MW and underline the continued expansion of wind energy in the province.

“Forêt Domaniale represents our third project with EDF Power Solutions North America in Québec in just the past year, underscoring the strength of our collaboration. With Hydro-Québec targeting 10 gigawatts of wind capacity by 2035, momentum is clearly accelerating, and partnerships like this are essential to turning that ambitious vision into reality”, said Laura Beane, President of Vestas North America.

“Our collaboration with Vestas continues to be a cornerstone of our success, and the Forêt Domaniale Wind - the third project secured through Hydro-Québec's call for tenders - is a strong reflection of that,” said Tristan Grimbert, President and CEO of EDF Power Solutions North America.

A portion of the tower production will be carried out by Québec-based company Marmen, supporting around 150 direct jobs at its Matane facility.

Turbine deliveries are scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2027, with commissioning planned for the fourth quarter of 2027.

Vestas shares, listed in the renewable stock index RENIXX-World, are currently trading at EUR 25.81. Since the start of the year, this represents a gain of 14%.
