Stock Market Week 38/26: RENIXX Holds 1,200-Point Mark – Canadian Solar and Array Technologies Down by Double Digits, Meridian Energy and Northland Power Lead

Münster – The RENIXX World tested the 1,200-point mark again last week, this time from below. After a weekly low on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, the index recovered to above 1,200 points by Thursday, September 17, 2026, but gave back ground at the end of the week and closed only just above the mark.

Interest rates were the main focus. On Wednesday, September 16, 2026, the US Federal Reserve raised its key interest rate by 0.25 percentage points to a target range of 3.75 to 4.00 percent, its first increase in three years. Fed Chair Kevin Warsh signalled a further increase later in the year. The yield on ten-year US government bonds rose above 5 percent, the highest level since 2007. On September 17, 2026, solar stocks such as Sunrun (+6 percent), First Solar (+6 percent) and SolarEdge (+4 percent) rose sharply across the sector. According to market observers, no single fundamental trigger could be identified; it was apparently a technical counter-move.

Meridian Energy and Northland Power Lead – Canadian Solar and Array Technologies Down by Double Digits

The RENIXX World closed at 1,202.56 points on Friday, September 18, 2026. That is a decline of 1.7 percent, or 21.28 points, from the previous week (1,223.84 points, September 11, 2026). The biggest gains were recorded by Meridian Energy (+7.1 percent), Northland Power (+5.8 percent), Daqo New Energy (+5.0 percent), Xinyi Solar (+4.5 percent) and Green Plains (+3.5 percent). Canadian Solar (−12.7 percent), Array Technologies (−12.1 percent), JinkoSolar (−8.6 percent), CATL (−6.2 percent) and Vestas (−4.2 percent) dominated the losers. Over the year, the RENIXX remains in positive territory with a gain of 6.4 percent, or 72.19 points (December 30, 2025: 1,130.37 points), but currently trades about 22.4 percent below its previous 52-week high of 1,550.58 points (June 3, 2026).

Company News, Week 38/26

Wind turbine manufacturer Nordex reported orders from Germany last week. Project developer TEUT has placed an order with Nordex for the supply and installation of 13 N163/6.X wind turbines for the Schönermark-Passow Wind Farm near Schwedt/Oder in the Uckermark district. The turbines will be installed with a hub height of 164 metres and have a total capacity of 91 MW. In addition, EEF Erneuerbare Energien Fabrik has placed a 34 MW order with the Nordex Group for the Rauschenberg Wind Farm in Hesse. The order comprises five N175/6.X turbines with a hub height of 199 metres and a service contract with a term of 20 years. Nordex shares, which are listed in the RENIXX World, closed at EUR 39.34 on September 18, 2026. That is an increase of 0.4 percent from the previous week.

Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas reported three new orders for onshore wind farms in the Netherlands, Belgium and Poland last week, with a combined capacity of 119 MW. The customers include Windpark AgroWind-Reusel B.V. in the Netherlands, an unnamed customer in Belgium, and KWE, part of Orlen New Power, in Poland. In addition to the turbine supply, all three projects are linked to long-term service agreements with Vestas. Vestas shares, which are listed in the RENIXX World, closed at EUR 27.62 on September 18, 2026. That is a decrease of 4.2 percent from the previous week.

Shares of US solar tracker manufacturer Array Technologies fell sharply after UBS downgraded the stock to "Neutral." The Array Technologies shares, which are listed in the RENIXX World, closed at EUR 3.49 on September 18, 2026. That is a decrease of 12.1 percent from the previous week.

Technical Picture: Breakout Fails

After the failed upside breakout attempt at the neckline of around 1,257 points (high of 1,257.61 points on September 8, 2026), the RENIXX initially fell to a weekly low of 1,173.89 points on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. It thereby briefly dropped below the support zone of around 1,190 to 1,200 points, which had been confirmed several times before. At the weekly close on Friday, September 18, 2026, the index stood at 1,202.56 points, again just above this zone.

As long as the RENIXX remains above the support zone of around 1,190 to 1,200 points, the recent recovery is considered intact. While the index remains below its MA20 (1,224.55 points), MA50 (1,248.33 points) and MA200 (1,277.25 points, each based on the closing price of September 17, 2026), the broader downtrend since the 52-week high of June 3, 2026 (1,550.58 points) remains intact.
