Total Energies Brings German Power Business Together Under “Integrated Power Germany” – New Unit Links VSB, Kyon Energy and Quadra

Dresden – Total Energies is bringing its German power business together under a new unit, “Integrated Power Germany”. The subsidiaries VSB, Kyon Energy and Quadra energy Sales & Origination will be more closely integrated with the group’s German offshore wind business in order to combine generation, storage and marketing along the value chain.

Total Energies has expanded its activities in the German power market in recent years through several acquisitions: Quadra energy in 2023, Kyon Energy in 2024 and the VSB Group in 2025. The new organisational unit is intended to bring these activities together more closely along the power value chain. Total Energies describes Germany as a strategically important market because of its size, its renewable energy expansion targets and the growing need for flexibility.

VSB Contributes Wind and Solar Project Development

VSB, headquartered in Dresden, has been part of Total Energies since 2025. The company develops, builds and operates wind and solar projects as well as battery storage systems and is active in six European countries. According to the company, VSB employs more than 500 people across the group and its affiliated companies.

“The new structure creates clarity and additional momentum while building on what makes VSB strong: more than 30 years of experience in developing, delivering and operating wind and solar projects,” said Thomas Winkler, Managing Director of VSB in Germany. VSB will continue to combine local project expertise with Total Energies’ financial strength, market presence and integrated power capabilities, he said.

Kyon Energy Brings Utility-Scale Storage with a Pipeline of More Than 7 GW

Within the new unit, Kyon Energy is positioned to develop utility-scale battery storage systems and other flexibility solutions. Total Energies acquired the company in early 2024. According to the company, Kyon Energy currently has a project pipeline of more than 7 GW as well as more than 1.5 GW of permitted, ready-to-build projects.

“The expansion of renewable energy requires storage capacity at industrial scale,” said Thomas Maubert, Managing Director of Kyon Energy. By working more closely with project development and power marketing, Kyon Energy would be able to fulfil its role in the power market even more effectively in the future, he said.

Quadra Takes Over Marketing and Aggregation

In the new structure, marketing and aggregation activities are represented by Quadra energy Sales & Origination. The company markets renewable power generation and integrates generation assets and flexibility resources into the power market.

“As the market leader in the aggregation of renewable energy, we integrate renewable and flexible assets into the power system and commercialize their power,” said Thomas Krings, CEO of Quadra energy Sales & Origination. Closer collaboration within Integrated Power Germany would unlock further potential along the value chain, he said.

Duret-Proux Has Headed Integrated Power Germany Since September 1, 2026

Alexandre Duret-Proux took over as Managing Director of Integrated Power Germany on September 1, 2026. He is responsible for the strategic development of the unit and for cooperation between its divisions. “Germany is a strategically important market for Total Energies in Europe. We have deliberately expanded our position in the German power market in recent years,” said Duret-Proux. With Integrated Power Germany, the group is now bringing its capabilities together even more closely and laying the foundation for further growth along the entire power value chain, he said.

According to the group, the new unit’s portfolio thus ranges from the development and operation of wind and solar projects to utility-scale battery storage and other flexibility solutions, through to power marketing, origination and offshore wind energy. Group-wide, Total Energies aims to increase its global net electricity production to more than 100 TWh per year by 2030. Around two-thirds of this is to come from renewable sources.
