Notus Realizes Its First Wind Farm in France

Paris, France - The Notus Group from Potsdam continues its international success. After recently starting the next phase for the development of three wind farms in the Ukraine, Notus has now been able to score points in the tender in France.

22.5 megawatt wind farm in France Kick-off for further projects

NOTUS énergie France has been awarded the contract for three wind turbines north of Paris in the fifth tender round of the "Commission de Régulation de L'Énergie" (CRE) in France. The turbines are part of a wind farm comprising a total of nine Nordex N100/2500 turbines with a total capacity of 22.5 megawatts and will be erected at a location around 90 km north of Paris near the town of Compiegne with its 40,000 inhabitants. The remaining six wind turbines in the wind farm will be remunerated in accordance with the feed-in tariff for 2017.

"Despite the corona crisis, construction work on the nine turbines is scheduled to commence in autumn 2020," explains Heinrich Lieser, President NOTUS énergie France in Paris. Commissioning of the turbines is planned for summer 2021. "The beginnings of this project go back to 2005, so we are all the more pleased that we can now move on and plan to produce renewable electricity for France next year," Lieser continued.

For Notus énergie France, the project is the first wind farm developed entirely by the Notus Group. In total, the Notus Group is developing wind and PV projects in France with a capacity of more than 600 MW. The projects are located across the country. Notus is constantly seeking further partnerships with other planners, municipalities and local authorities.

Notus Energy plans large wind farms in Ukraine

In addition to the wind market in France, Notus is also making progress in project development in the Ukraine. In early March, the Notus energy Group and representatives of the Odessa regional administration signed a "Memorandum of Understanding" for the development of three wind farms near Odessa. In April 2019 Notus energy had acquired the rights to build the wind farms with around 50 wind turbines and a total capacity of around 300 MW and will take over the structured financing, technical planning, construction and operation of the turbines. The projects are located in the district of Ovidiopol, around 30 kilometres west of the Ukrainian Black Sea metropolis. Notus energy has started the preparatory work and is counting on a positive result of the current discussions of the central government in Kiev about the amount and duration of the remuneration tariffs. Notus expects the projects to be commissioned in 2022.
