Hamburg, Germany - Last week RENIXX listed wind turbine manufacturer Nordex reported further orders for a total capacity of 245 megawatts (MW) received from South America in December 2021, including a major order from Chile. In addition, Nordex landed another order in Finland and received an order from Spain.

The order from Chile includes the delivery of 29 N163/5.X turbines. The client is a Chilean developer. Besides turbine delivery, the order includes a service contract for an initial period of two years with various extension options up to 15 years. Delivery and installation of the turbines for the 165 MW wind farm is scheduled for fall 2022, with commissioning of the first turbines planned for the end of the same year. The name of the customer and the project are not disclosed.

Norwegian energy group Statkraft has awarded Nordex a contract for the delivery and installation of 14 N163/5.X turbines for the Morro do Cruzeiro wind farm in Brazil. The order also includes a service contract for three years including a possible extension option. The site of the 80 MW project is located in the municipality of Brotas de Macaúbas in a mountainous area in the Brazilian state of Bahia. Installation of the turbines, which will be delivered in an operating mode of 5.7 MW, is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2023. Nordex will manufacture the nacelles, hubs, rotor blades and the 120 meter high concrete towers in the country.

In addition to the major order for 380 MW for the Pjelax-Böle-Kristinestad Norr wind farm cluster reported earlier this month, Nordex has secured a further order for a total capacity of 72 MW in Finland for the Tolpanvaara wind farm. The project will be built in northern Ostrobothnia, in the municipality of Pudasjärvi, approx. 700 km north of Helsinki, at the end of 2021. The client is the new customer Enefit Green. In addition, Nordex has secured a 43 MW order from RWE Renewables Iberia in Spain.
