Wind Energy: Vestas Wins Orders From The USA And Estonia

Aarhus, Denmark - Wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has received a 171 MW order from Cordelio Power for the Moraine Sands wind project in Illinois, USA. The order includes 38 Vestas V150 turbines with a capacity of 4.5 MW. Delivery of the turbines will begin in the fourth quarter of 2022.

This US project is an extension of the 185 MW Glacier Sands wind farm, which was commissioned in November 2021. The 43 V150 4.2 MW turbines were delivered in 4.3 MW operating mode.

Vestas also secured a 21 MW order from Enefit Green AS, subsidiary of state-owned energy company Eesti Energia AS, for its first wind project in Estonia. Vestas received the order from its subsidiary Enefit Wind Purtse. The order marks Vestas' market entry in Estonia and its first collaboration with Enefit Green. The order includes the delivery and installation of five V136-4.2-MW wind turbines. Turbine deliveries for the Purtse wind project are expected to start in the first quarter of 2023, with commissioning scheduled for the first half of 2023.

Enefit Green acquired the Purtse wind farm development project in March 2021 through last year's acquisition of Raunista.
