Cooperation: Q-Energy And EEG Eifel Develop 10 Wind Farms With More Than 300 MW In Germany

Berlin, Germany - The investment and management platform Q-Energy and the wind farm developer EEG Eifel Energiegesellschaft have reached a cooperation agreement. Together, the two companies plan to build 10 wind farms in Rhineland-Palatinate in the region around Trier with 40 new wind turbines and a total capacity of 316 megawatts (MW).

The wind farms are currently at various stages of planning, with one project already in the permitting process and Q-Energy expecting to submit additional permit applications this year.

" We rely on long-term cooperation with local actors and are very pleased that we can continue counting on EEG Eifel as a trusted partner for further project developments. Together we want to unlock the Eifel region’s potential", said Nigel Nyirenda, Head of Project Development at Q-Energy in Germany, welcoming the cooperation. "We will acquire further windfarms with a focus on repowering and will significantly expand our project pipeline in the area of greenfield development in cooperation with local project developers", adds Borja Caruana, Managing Director of Q-Energy Deutschland GmbH. With a view to local acceptance, Q-Energy says it pursues transparent communication at an early stage and proactive involvement of local communities and residents in project development.
