Qualitas Energy on Expansion Course - Chile as an Important Strategic Market

Madrid, Spain - For Qualitas Energy, a global investment and management platform focused on renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure investments, Chile is an important future market.

With its new office in Santiago, the company is positioning itself in one of the most dynamic and important renewable energy markets in Latin America.

Ambitious decarbonization goals are driving Chile to become one of the world's fastest-growing clean energy markets over the next decade, according to Qualitas. The new Qualitas office in Santiago will be headed by Alfonso Ardizzoni. In a career spanning more than 20 years in the Chilean power sector, he has been dedicated to identifying, developing and consolidating new business areas in companies such as Generadora Metropolitana. Alfonso will work with Oscar Pérez, Partner and Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO), and Cristóbal Santa Cruz, Principal of Investment. Both are responsible for investments in the region.

Prospects in Chile are becoming visible with the latest RE acquisition, the company shared. The acquisition of the first run-of-river power plant in collaboration with local partners is a key strategic decision due to its size, location and production yield. Proximity information or details on the hydropower project were not disclosed.

With the opening of the now ninth office, activities are being internationalized beyond Europe, the company said. At the same time, the new office marks the company's entry into the Latin American market. This milestone is part of the company's strategy and aims to tap new potential with its fifth fund, Q-Energy V. The first closing reaches over 1.1 billion euros, with a total fund volume of more than 1.6 billion euros expected. As the company points out, this would make Q-Energy V one of the largest funds for renewable energies in Europe.
