Expanding Internationally: Deutsche Windtechnik Launches Independent Wind Service in Belgium

Bremen, Germany / Hasselt, Belgium - Until now, the wind energy market in Belgium has been dominated by turbine manufacturers in the service and maintenance segment, which has led to a low level of competition. This is set to change with the establishment of a new Deutsche Windtechnik unit in Belgium.

Deutsche Windtechnik Belgium B.V. now offers wind farm operators in Belgium choice and greater flexibility in the maintenance of their wind turbines for the first time. Geert Timmers, who already manages the Deutsche Windtechnik site in the Netherlands, will take over the management of the new unit.

With its formal headquarters in Hasselt and strategically planned service locations throughout Belgium, Deutsche Windtechnik B.V. offers a comprehensive range of services from basic maintenance to full maintenance. As a multi-brand specialist, the company has over two decades of practical experience with turbines from Vestas, Siemens, Enercon, Nordex and Senvion, making it the ideal partner for diversified wind energy portfolios.

"We are very happy to offer our independent service in the Belgian market. Deutsche Windtechnik's flexible range of services will open the Belgian market. And this will benefit Belgian operators, who finally have a real choice regarding their service provider," says Timmers.

"The already existing service infrastructure enables seamless coordination and rapid response to our Belgian clients' needs. For example, our German unit manages 24/7 remote data monitoring and troubleshooting. For now, deployment planning for the Belgian service teams and office management will be organized from the Netherlands", adds Timmers.

To kick off the Belgian service market, Deutsche Windtechnik Belgium B.V. has concluded a comprehensive full maintenance contract for 15 Vestas V80 turbines at several Belgian locations. The scope of services includes remote data monitoring and troubleshooting to ensure the optimum performance and longevity of the turbines.

Deutsche Windtechnik Belgium B.V. will initially focus on onshore maintenance, but has already received initial enquiries for offshore services.
