Milestone Almost Reached: VSB's 60 MW Solar Park in Sicily is Almost Ready For Construction
Potenza, Italy / Dresden - The VSB Group from Dresden is represented in various European countries. In addition to construction projects in Germany, Poland, France and Finland, a project in Sicily, Italy, is currently on the home straight.
The project is set to take shape in the coming months on an area of 100 hectares in the town of Ramacca, southwest of Catania. Commissioning of the plant is planned for 2025. VSB assumes that the solar park will generate around 117 million kWh of electricity per year, which corresponds to the energy requirements of around 40,000 average multi-person households.
"The VSB Italy team is currently developing wind energy and photovoltaic parks with a total capacity of 1.8 gigawatts. "Ramacca" demonstrates our expertise in implementing large-scale PV projects," comments Giuseppe de Benedictis, Managing Director of VSB Italy, on the progress made in realizing the project.
"Italy has set itself the goal of connecting a good 50 gigawatts of PV power to the grid by 2030. We are happy to support this to the best of our ability with our expertise. Energy independence and security of supply are central pillars for the whole of Europe, as are stable electricity prices for citizens and companies - all of this is possible with the rapid expansion of renewable energies," adds Dr. Felix Grolman, CEO of the VSB Group.
