Swiss Sell: Qualitas Energy Acquires Seven German Wind Farms With Great Repowering Potential

Berlin, Germany - Qualitas Energy has announced the acquisition of seven German wind farms from Swiss investment manager SUSI Partners.

The 33 existing wind farms were commissioned between 2012 and 2017 and have since generated sustainable wind power for around 63,000 households with a total capacity of 99 MW. The wind farms are located throughout Germany in Schleswig-Holstein, Brandenburg, Saxony-Anhalt, Rhineland-Palatinate, Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria.

Qualitas Energy is now planning targeted repowering measures to increase the total capacity to around 173 MW in the coming years. This step will make it possible to supply over 118,000 households with clean wind power in the future.

“The acquisition of this portfolio represents a significant milestone in our strategy to drive long-term, sustainable value creation in the renewable energy sector,” said Johannes Overbeck, Head of Investments at Qualitas Energy Deutschland GmbH. “Repowering aging turbines is a key strategy for advancing the energy transition and sustainably optimizing the output of wind power projects. By replacing existing turbines with new, higher-capacity models, we are accelerating the shift towards a green, sustainable energy future and reinforcing our commitment to both infrastructure renewal and new developments.”

Qualitas Energy is currently developing more than 100 projects in Germany. The company plans to invest around €1.2 billion from Qualitas Energy Fund V to accelerate the energy transition in Germany and expand its internal project development capacity to 4 GW.
