Major Transaction in the Agri-PV Sector: WFW Advises Orrön Energy on Sale of 234 MW Agri-PV Portfolio in Eastern Germany

Hamburg/London (UK) - The law firm Watson Farley & Williams (WFW), specialized in energy and infrastructure projects, has advised Orrön Energy Greenfield AB on the sale of a portfolio of three agri-photovoltaic projects to Gülermak Renewables Deutschland Holding GmbH.

The transaction includes projects in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Brandenburg, and Saxony-Anhalt, with a total capacity of 234 MW. The agri-PV parks will continue to be developed by Orrön Energy until construction begins. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Orrön Energy is part of the Swedish Lundin Group and focuses on the development and operation of onshore renewable energy plants. The company aims to create long-term value for its shareholders and contribute to sustainable energy supply. The buyer, Gülermak Renewables, is part of the Turkish Gülermak Group and operates as an independent power producer in the fields of wind, solar photovoltaics, and battery storage.

Orrön Energy was advised by an interdisciplinary energy team from WFW, led by partner Dr. Wolfram Böge. “ We’re delighted to have supported Orrön Energy in this transaction. Agrivoltaics is an innovative solution that maximises land use and plays a vital role in the global energy transition. Being instructed on deals of this nature underscores WFW’s expertise in the renewable energy sector”, Böge said about the deal.
