Expansion of U.S. Project Pipeline: Ørsted Makes Strategic Investment in Mission Clean Energy

San Francisco, USA – Danish energy company and offshore wind specialist Ørsted has made a 55 million US-Dollar investment in U.S. project developer Mission Clean Energy.

This investment aims to strengthen the existing partnership between Ørsted and Mission, as well as accelerate the expansion of Mission’s project pipeline in solar energy and energy storage. For Mission, Ørsted’s strategic investment represents a key milestone. The support from Ørsted and other partners also provides valuable growth capital to expand Mission's project pipeline.

"We are excited to expand our partnership with Mission Clean Energy to efficiently advance its development of renewable energy projects. This investment aligns with our strategy to enable multi-technology clean energy solutions and broaden our presence in the U.S. solar and storage market," said Mike Morrow, Vice President of M&A and Business Development at Ørsted.

With Ørsted’s investment and continued support from other partners, Mission is well-positioned to continue developing and advancing projects that meet the growing energy demand from utilities, data centers, manufacturing facilities, and other large-load sectors. Mission will continue to operate as an independent company led by its current management team. The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Ørsted’s stock has gained 4 percent over the first three trading days of this week, reaching 44.05 euro (closing price on March 19, 2025, Stuttgart Stock Exchange). This morning, the stock has dropped by 1.4 percent to 43.44 euro.
