Hydrogen Milestone in Georgia: Plug Power Reaches 300-ton Monthly Production With Proprietary Electrolyzer Technology
Woodbine, USA – In April 2025, U.S.-based hydrogen and fuel cell company Plug Power achieved a new production milestone at its plant in Woodbine, Georgia. For the first time, the facility produced 300 tons of liquid hydrogen within a single month.
“Plug’s Georgia plant is doing exactly what it was built to do—delivering real hydrogen at real scale using Plug technology. This isn’t a pilot or a promise. It’s commercial hydrogen production, with proven technology running 24/7 and making an impact today”, said Plug Power CEO Andy Marsh.
The hydrogen produced in Georgia is primarily supplied to major logistics and distribution customers – including Walmart, Amazon, and Home Depot – and is intended to support the decarbonization of their supply chains.
With additional production sites in Tennessee and Louisiana, Plug Power now has a combined daily production capacity of 40 tons of liquid hydrogen, positioning itself as a market leader in the U.S.
Chief Revenue Officer Jose Luis Crespo emphasized: “Producing and delivering hydrogen with our own technology strengthens customer value, improves margins, and supports long-term commercial growth.”
After four trading days this week, Plug Power’s stock leads the RENIXX index with a strong gain of 15.9%, closing at €0.80 on May 29, 2025, on the Stuttgart Stock Exchange. The stock continues its upward trend this morning, currently trading at €0.826.
