Encavis Already Majority Owner: Energiequelle Connects Zeven Wind Farm in Lower Saxony to the Grid in Record Time

Kallinchen, Germany – Following the recent announcement of Encavis AG’s purchase of eight out of the total nine turbines at the Zeven wind farm in Lower Saxony, Energiequelle GmbH has now reported the successful commissioning of the wind farm.

In just 14 months, the company specializing in renewable energy systems and innovative energy solutions completed the installation of the nine Vestas V162 turbines, each with a hub height of 169 meters and a total capacity of 54 MW. Despite more than 600 hours of crane downtime caused by adverse conditions such as strong winds and wet peat soils, the project remained on schedule. Project manager Robert Koddebusch described it as an “enormous logistical and technical challenge” and sees the implementation as “an impressive mpressive proof of the high level of professionalism of everyone involved”.

The nine wind turbines will in future supply around 40,000 households with green electricity on a calculated basis. Approximately 133 million kWh of wind power are expected to be generated annually. While the majority of the wind farm was transferred to Encavis AG at the end of May, the ninth turbine will be operated by Bürgerwindpark Wistedt GmbH & Co. KG.

In addition to contributing to climate-friendly power generation, the wind farm in Lower Saxony also brings economic benefits to the region: lease payments and municipal participations ensure sustainable local value creation.

Further wind farms are planned in the region and throughout Lower Saxony. Energiequelle also intends to build numerous new wind turbines in the district of Rotenburg. In doing so, Energiequelle relies on long-term partnerships, transparent communication, and the early involvement of local communities.
