With U.S. Follow-up Order in Hand: SFC Energy Expands “Local-for-Local” Strategy in the United States

Brunnthal/Munich (Germany) - SFC Energy AG has received a follow-up order worth approximately USD 4 million from a long-standing U.S. customer. The order comes from the civil security technology market segment and is expected to impact both revenue and earnings in fiscal year 2025.

SFC Energy supplies off-grid power solutions for mobile security and surveillance systems using its EFOY Pro fuel cell technology. These systems are particularly used in environments where stable energy supply is required under challenging conditions. According to SFC CEO Dr. Peter Podesser, the order is a „further proof of the economic competitive advantage” of the company’s technology in the field of civil protection and mobile surveillance.

In parallel with executing the order, SFC Energy is advancing the development of local structures in the United States. Production at the new U.S. site in Salt Lake City, Utah, is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025. The aim is to improve proximity to customers while also reducing tariffs, currency risks, and dependencies on global supply chains. Local manufacturing is part of the company’s “Local-for-Local” strategy, which has already been successfully implemented in India and Europe.

With its expansion in the U.S., SFC aims to strengthen its position in the North American market and at the same time ensure long-term value creation in a growing technology sector. The U.S. is considered one of the most dynamic markets worldwide for SFC.

SFC Energy’s stock gained slightly by 0.9 percent yesterday, closing at €16.14 (closing price, August 27, 2025, Stuttgart Stock Exchange). However, compared to its price at the beginning of the year, this represents a decline of 7.6%.
