UKA Records Historic Week: Commissioning One Wind Turbine per Day – More than 1.5 Gigawatts Onshore Under Construction
Meissen (Germany) - The energy park developer UKA Umweltgerechte Kraftanlagen has commissioned one wind turbine per day over the course of a week. Together, the seven new turbines have a total capacity of 44.5 megawatts, marking a new weekly record for the company.
One of the largest projects currently under construction is the 80-megawatt Vietlübbe wind farm. After 17 years of planning and around one year of construction, the site will soon produce wind power. Local residents will also benefit from an electricity price bonus. The project demonstrates that UKA’s persistence pays off even in complex undertakings, the company said.
Construction activity is expected to remain high in the coming years: projects with more than 2 gigawatts of capacity are currently undergoing approval in Germany. Overall, UKA has a national project pipeline exceeding 11 gigawatts, including wind, photovoltaic, and battery storage projects.
UKA plans, builds, operates, and sells wind and photovoltaic parks in Germany, Europe, and the Americas. The family-owned company has pursued a long-term strategy since its founding in 1999 and is considered one of Germany’s leading renewable energy project developers.
