Nordex Delta4000 Turbines for Rhineland-Palatinate: Nordex to Build and Maintain the 77 MW Schneifelhöhe Wind Farm
Hamburg (Germany) - The Nordex Group has been awarded the contract to construct the 77 MW Schneifelhöhe wind farm in the Bitburg-Prüm district. The clients are Energieversorgung Mittelrhein (evm), Stadtwerke Karlsruhe, and Thüga Erneuerbare Energien.
The wind farm will be located on the forested Schneifel ridge in Rhineland-Palatinate. The Delta4000 turbines, each with a nominal output of 7 MW, will be installed at a hub height of 164 meters. According to Nordex, the site’s location between 630 and 670 meters above sea level offers good wind conditions for high energy yields.
Infrastructure work began in October 2025, and turbine commissioning is scheduled for the second half of 2027.
“We are very pleased to be making another important contribution to the energy transition in Rhineland-Palatinate with this project and to sustainably strengthen the region's security of energy supply. For this order, we are working in partnership with the region's leading utility Energieversorgung Mittelrhein (evm), Stadtwerke Karlsruhe, and Thüga Erneuerbare Energien,” said Felipe Villalon Waldburg-Zeil, Director of Sales, Region Central, Nordex Group. He also emphasized the suitability of the Delta4000 turbines for the demanding wind conditions.
To date, the Nordex Group has installed around 57 GW of wind energy capacity in over 40 markets and generated group revenues of approximately €7.3 billion in 2024. With more than 10,400 employees, the company operates production facilities in Germany, Spain, Brazil, India, the USA, and Mexico. Its product portfolio focuses on onshore turbines starting at 4 MW, suitable for regions with limited expansion space and grid capacity.
In this morning’s generally weak stock market environment, Nordex shares are showing little momentum. The stock is currently trading at €27.18, representing a 140 percent increase compared with its price at the beginning of the year.
