Juwi Expands Globally and Sells Greek 156 MW Solar Portfolio to French Asset Manager Mirova

Wörrstadt (Germany) - Juwi GmbH, a subsidiary of the German MVV Energie AG, has sold a 156-MW solar portfolio in Greece. The buyer is French asset manager Mirova SAS, an investment company of the Natixis Group. Following the successful completion of the transaction, Juwi will take over construction and operation of the solar park portfolio.

With this international transaction, Juwi once again underscores the strength of its diversified business strategy, which includes both in-house project development and the acquisition of mature project rights.

Solar projects in northern Greece

The four projects are located in the Greek regions of Kozani and Grevena. Once commissioned, the solar plants will generate around 300 million kWh of clean electricity annually - enough to theoretically supply more than 75,000 people. More than 243,000 bifacial solar modules and over 480 inverters will be installed across an area of 257 hectares.

Juwi is responsible for all EPC and O&M services for the solar parks, with construction scheduled to begin in November 2025.

Juwi strengthens its position as a global project developer

With this project, Juwi reinforces its role as a global project developer. In addition to Europe, the company is also active in the USA, India, and South Africa.

“Following last year’s landmark sale of the Hive solar portfolio, the largest in our history, the successful closing of the Clover portfolio further reinforces our position as a leading developer in selected international markets,” says Stephan Hansen, COO of the Juwi Group. Takis Sarris, Managing Director of Juwi Hellas, refers to M&A transactions of more than half a billion euros within the past five years - further proof of the international capabilities of Juwi’s Greek subsidiary.

The international dimension of the transaction is also emphasized by the investor: "This transaction perfectly illustrates our ambition with the investment strategy: to support high-quality developers in delivering large-scale, high-impact sustainable energy infrastructure. By investing in the Clover portfolio, we are strengthening our presence in Southern Europe,” explains Helene Dimitracopoulos of Mirova.
