Pine Valley Capital Advises on Transaction: Green NRG Sells 4 MW PV and 8 MW Battery Storage Project - Co-location as a Growth Strategy

Mainz/Munich (Germany) – Against the backdrop of increasing price volatility and negative electricity prices, battery storage systems are increasingly coming into focus as a tool for optimizing feed-in and commercialization.

In this dynamic market environment, Green NRG GmbH has successfully sold a co-location project with a capacity of 4 MW photovoltaic (PV) and 8 MW battery energy storage (BESS) to an investor. The transaction was structured and advised by the independent financial boutique Pine Valley Capital. Financial details were not disclosed.

The project combines PV generation with battery storage and will now be advanced to the next development phase together with the investor. The goal is to reach “ready-to-build” (RTB) status, meaning the project will be developed until it is ready for construction.

“With the joint co-development up to RTB status, we are sending a clear signal for flexibility in the energy market. The 8 MW BESS in particular is an exciting component within the co-location concept. Together with Pine Valley Capital, we have created a structure that generates long-term value. We look forward to the further implementation!” said Tobias Senftl, Managing Director of Green NRG GmbH.

Co-location concepts are becoming increasingly important in Germany. The combination of generation and storage enables a more flexible electricity supply, supports grid integration, and opens up new commercialization options for renewable energy.

From Pine Valley Capital’s perspective, the transaction demonstrates how important strong partnerships are when implementing projects at the intersection of renewable generation, flexibility, and commercialization. Pine Valley Capital supports companies, project developers, and industrial partners in structuring complex transactions and sustainable financing solutions in the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors.
