Bloom Energy Strengthens Leadership Team: Bloom Energy Appoints Simon Edwards as CFO - Focus on Energy for Digital and AI Infrastructures
San Jose (USA) – Bloom Energy is strengthening its leadership team: Simon Edwards will become Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the California-based fuel cell manufacturer effective April 13, 2026.
At Groq, Edwards led global financial operations, supported the company’s rapid growth, and oversaw a licensing agreement with Nvidia. Previously, he held leadership roles as CFO at the SaaS companies Conga and ServiceMax, where he managed finance, corporate development, and revenue operations through various growth phases. Earlier positions at General Electric, including CFO of GE Digital, provided him with additional experience in manufacturing, service, and digital transformation.
“Simon brings deep experience across finance and financial operations, along with the discipline, systems thinking and technology leadership needed as Bloom rapidly builds the power platform for the digital economy and beyond,” said KR Sridhar, founder and CEO of Bloom Energy.
Edwards himself emphasized the strategic importance of his move: “I’m excited to join Bloom at a pivotal moment, as power availability becomes a defining constraint on digital and AI infrastructure. Bloom is uniquely positioned to address this challenge.”
Edwards holds a bachelor’s degree in Computing for Real Time Systems from the University of the West of England and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Shares of Bloom Energy, which is listed in the renewable energy index RENIXX World, fell by 11.4% to €115 over the past week (closing price, March 27, 2026, Stuttgart Stock Exchange).
