Scatec Shares up 21 Percent Since the Turn of the Year: Scatec Commissions 60 MW Tozeur Solar Plant in Tunisia
Oslo (Norway) / Tunis (Tunisia) – Scatec ASA, listed on the global RENIXX index, has together with Aeolus SAS commenced commercial operation of the 60 MW Tozeur solar power plant in Tunisia. The commissioning is effective retroactively from 4 March 2026.
The solar plant was built in parallel with the equally 60 MW Sidi Bouzid project, which already entered commercial operation on 1 January 2026. Both plants were awarded under a government tender process and are part of Tunisia’s broader strategy to decarbonise its power sector and strengthen energy security.
"With Tozeur now in operation alongside Sidi Bouzid, we are establishing a solid platform for growth in Tunisia. These projects demonstrate both our execution capabilities and the attractiveness of the market," said Scatec CEO Terje Pilskog. He added: "With three additional projects already in our backlog, we are well positioned to continue scaling our presence”.
Together, the two plants are expected to generate around 288 GWh of electricity annually, avoiding more than 115,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year. Scatec holds a 51 percent stake in the projects, while Aeolus holds 49 percent. Scatec will also provide operations and maintenance (O&M) and asset management services.
With these projects, the Norwegian renewable energy developer marks its first operational solar plants in Tunisia and continues its expansion in North Africa.
Scatec shares are currently trading at EUR 10.79. Compared to the level at the turn of the year, this represents an increase of around 21 percent.
