WindEnergy Hamburg 2026 Expects 43,000 Attendees – Storage to Get Its Own Exhibition Focus for the First Time

Hamburg, Germany – The international wind industry will gather in Hamburg from September 22 to 25, 2026, for WindEnergy Hamburg. Organizers expect around 43,000 attendees from around the world and more than 1,600 exhibiting companies. The trade fair will be opened by Hamburg's First Mayor, Dr. Peter Tschentscher.

This year's WindEnergy Hamburg will focus on the further development of international wind energy markets, offshore expansion, repowering, supply chains and the integration of storage. With "Energy Storage," the topic of energy storage will get its own dedicated exhibition area for the first time in 2026. Across six stages, around 300 international representatives from business, science and politics will discuss market and technology developments.

Another key focus is international market development. The Global Markets Theatre, co-organized with the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), will address grid expansion, offshore wind energy, and the growth markets in Asia, Africa and South America, among other topics. Alongside developments in the German market, the offshore program will also cover regulation, project planning and international supply chains.

WindEnergy Hamburg runs for four exhibition days at the Hamburg Messehallen. The two wind trade fairs in Hamburg and Husum alternate annually: the internationally oriented WindEnergy Hamburg takes place in even years, while the odd years feature Husum Wind (September 14–17, 2027), which is more strongly focused on the German-speaking market.
