Nordex to Supply Turbines on 199-Meter Towers Again: Nordex Secures Repowering Award in Hesse
Hamburg – EEF Erneuerbare Energien Fabrik has awarded Nordex Group a 34 MW order for the Rauschenberg wind farm in Hesse. The order comprises five N175/6.X turbines on 199-meter towers as well as a 20-year service agreement.
In Rauschenberg, Nordex is replacing five older 3 MW wind turbines with significantly more powerful 6.8 MW turbines as part of a repowering project. The greater hub height allows for better use of wind conditions at the site and higher electricity output, particularly during periods of lower wind. Delivery and construction of the new turbines are scheduled to begin at the end of 2027, with the turbines expected to start generating wind power from summer 2028.
"Through repowering, we will be able to generate significantly more renewable electricity at an established site in the future," said Lukas Jörgens, Project Manager Rauschenberg at EEF Erneuerbare Energien Fabrik. "At the same time, this order underlines the continued strong demand for our high-performance wind turbines in Germany," said Karsten Brüggemann, Vice President Region Europe of the Nordex Group. According to Brüggemann, the technology also enables high energy yields at inland sites.
Nordex shares rose sharply by 6.9 percent to EUR 39.20 last week, following upgrades from Bank of America and Citi, a gain of 34.3 percent since the turn of the year. On Monday, the stock gave back some of these gains amid an overall weak market environment, closing down 3.1 percent at EUR 37.98 (closing price, September 14, 2026, Stuttgart Stock Exchange).
