Deutsche WindGuard Brings AI to Asset Management: New AI Assistant Answers Operational Questions in Real Time

Berlin – Deutsche WindGuard Systems GmbH is continuing to expand its WONDER asset management system with an AI-powered conversational interface. The new digital assistant answers complex operational questions about renewable energy portfolios directly in natural language, without time-consuming searches or navigation.

WONDER is the software platform developed by Deutsche WindGuard Systems for the technical and commercial management of wind farms. With wonBOT, the modular system now features an AI-powered conversational interface, further advancing the system as part of its ongoing development.

wonBOT Answers Questions About Portfolios, Assets and Maintenance History

Integrated into WONDER, wonBOT accesses portfolio, asset and master data and answers users’ questions in real time. Instead of navigating through predefined search forms or menus, users can formulate their requests directly in natural language, for example asking which maintenance tasks were carried out on a particular asset during a specified period. Specific information from individual asset history records can also be retrieved in this way, including details of maintenance, actions taken and historical events. The assistant can also process complex queries involving filters and date ranges and presents the results clearly and in context.

“With wonBOT, we are introducing an intelligent conversational interface to WONDER,” says Falko Feßer, Managing Director of Deutsche WindGuard Systems. “We bring together the capabilities of artificial intelligence and the practical requirements of professional technical management, integrating AI seamlessly into existing structures.”

Data Processing Remains Within the Customer’s Own Infrastructure

According to Deutsche WindGuard, user queries are processed exclusively within the customer’s own infrastructure, with no information being transferred to external systems. wonBOT is also integrated into WONDER’s existing access control and tenant structure. This ensures that users receive only information they are authorised to access.

Feedback From the Varel Team Feeds Directly Into Development

The software is developed by a team in Berlin that benefits directly from the practical experience of Deutsche WindGuard’s technical management team in Varel, Germany. Feedback from day-to-day use is continuously incorporated into the further development of WONDER and wonBOT.

“For my team, wonBOT significantly reduces our day-to-day workload and frees up valuable time,” explains Nicolas Kluth, Head of Technical Management at Deutsche WindGuard. According to Kluth, information previously often had to be gathered from different areas of the system before the technical assessment could begin. wonBOT now provides the relevant information immediately and tailored to the specific question, reducing the effort involved in finding information and allowing the team to start its technical work sooner.

Deutsche WindGuard Systems GmbH, based in Berlin, is part of the Deutsche WindGuard Group, founded in 2000. Headquartered in Varel, with additional locations in Germany, the USA, China and India, the group provides independent services to the wind energy and wider renewable energy industries.

The new AI assistant will be presented at Deutsche WindGuard’s exhibition stand during WindEnergy Hamburg, taking place from 22 to 25 September 2026.
