Stock Markets, Week 40/26: RENIXX Tests Annual Low – New Constituents Samsung SDI and SMA Solar Gain Strongly – XPeng, Cadeler and Grenergy at Bottom of Index
Münster – The RENIXX World set a new annual low last week. The index of the renewable energy sector recovered somewhat by the end of the week but still closed marginally lower on a weekly basis. The composition of the RENIXX was adjusted last week as part of the regular major rebalancing date.
RENIXX Rebalancing as of October 1: Samsung SDI, SMA Solar and Solaria Join, Energy Storage Gains Weight
The composition of the RENIXX was adjusted as of October 1, 2026, as part of the regular major rebalancing date of September 30. Samsung SDI (South Korea), SMA Solar (Germany) and Solaria Energía (Spain) are new to the index; Array Technologies, Canadian Solar and JinkoSolar have been removed.
Following CATL, which was added on July 1, 2026, as the first battery manufacturer, Samsung SDI is the second energy storage company to join the index. Samsung SDI produces lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles, stationary storage and backup power systems for data centers. SMA Solar supplies inverters, battery inverters and storage solutions. Solaria builds solar parks, wind and battery storage projects and develops sites with secured grid connections for data centers.
The rebalancing also reflects the trend toward renewable energy projects increasingly being developed and built in combination with storage systems.
