W.E.B. Windenergie Also Relies on ENERTRAG's Operational Management Software PowerSystem for PV Plants

Dauerthal, Germany / Pfaffenschlag near Waidhofen, Austria - The Austrian renewable energy company W.E.B Windenergie AG operates 249 wind turbines, 29 photovoltaic systems and 3 small hydroelectric power stations.

With rated power of 523 MW and energy of 1.3 million MWh generated, W.E.B provides around 380,000 households with electricity.

For the management of these plants the operational managers like W.E.B. need a reliable IT solution that helps the systems’ processes to achieve maximum availability and yields. ENERTRAG’s PowerSystem software is an example of such a multi-faceted solution and W.E.B has renewed the contract to use it for a further three years.

From 2021, PowerSystem will manage the technical operation of the 18.6 MW photovoltaic systems as well as the 592 MW of wind power already integrated. “Thanks to PowerSystem, W.E.B will be able to monitor both wind and solar systems and create standard reports for its mixed portfolio. We’re delighted to work with W.E.B, who have an agile, pioneering spirit and a vast range of experience and expertise, which, in turn, helps us to attune our PowerSystem to market requirements,” emphasises Dr Felix Bübl, head of software development at ENERTRAG.

PowerSystem was developed to operate and integrate renewable energy systems. It is used in technical operations management to ensure precise billing and remote control that’s exact to the minute. In 1999, ENERTRAG developed its own solution as the market lacked one. Since then, the software has been constantly adapted and improved to reflect current conditions and requirements. As ENERTRAG points out, a high level of automation helps to achieve the goal to provide leaner and more transparent processes. A team of 26 IT specialists now optimises the PowerSystem each month in line with statutory and market requirements.
