Management Team Complete: Dirk Retzlaff Becomes COO of The VSB Group

Dresden, Germany - The top management of the VSB Group has been strengthened: on November 1, Dirk Retzlaff took over the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Retzlaff will be responsible for the international renewable energy project developer's current 15,000 MW (15 GW) wind and photovoltaic pipeline. As COO, the long-standing top manager will transfer strategic decisions to the company's operational business and thus ensure that current wind energy and photovoltaic projects are optimally kept on track and that the strong pipeline is consistently expanded and efficiently implemented.

"VSB is growing, which is reflected in the sheer diversity of management tasks and the complexity of processes and projects. I am delighted that we have been able to get Dirk Retzlaff excited about VSB and the challenges that lie ahead", says VSB CEO Dr. Felix Grolman.

"With the appointment of Dirk Retzlaff, we welcome a real industry expert to the VSB management team. He is well versed in the renewable energy project business, from greenfield sites to plant services, and knows how to successfully connect even large-scale projects to the grid", adds Christopher Delbrück, Chairman of the VSB Group Advisory Board.

"The restructuring of the energy industry is in full swing, allowing us as a company to set an example with our wind and PV projects and shape the transition in the regions. This is where I want to get involved and contribute my experience so that VSB leaves its green footprint at many more locations in Europe", says Retzlaff about his role.

Retzlaff (60) holds a degree in physics and has more than 15 years of management experience in the field of renewable energies. In central functions at BayWa r.e. and Juwi, Retzlaff has dedicated himself to the expansion of wind and photovoltaic parks and the development of foreign markets. In these management roles, he managed various subsidiaries in Europe and beyond and played a key role in shaping their strategic direction.
