Business Unit Performance Management: David Willemsen Becomes COO of Tion Renewables Group

Munich, Germany – The Tion Renewables Group has filled the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer (COO). As of today (April 1, 2025), David Willemsen assumes this role, having previously served as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).

The Performance Management business unit consists of in-house asset management, power marketing, as well as IT and data management. Willemsen, an industrial engineer, has been active in the renewable energy sector since 2010.

As COO, the 38-year-old consolidates the responsibilities of internal asset management, the procurement of electricity from the company's own facilities (collectively: Performance Management), as well as IT and data management. Willemsen states: "I would like to thank the Management Board for the trust placed in me. More than ever, my work is now aimed at leveraging every possible synergy to achieve maximum production volumes with our wind and solar plants, sell our green electricity at the best prices, and continue to digitize our internal processes day by day."

Ingmar Helmke, CEO of the company, adds: "David Willemsen made the energy transition his profession even before it was on everyone’s lips. He now not only contributes his extensive experience profitably to Tion but is also always available to his colleagues as a sparring partner and leads his team by example. We are therefore delighted that we could inspire David for our new role of COO."
