Expansion of Wind Energy in Sweden: OX2 Hands Over Swedish Wind Farm Riberget to Energy Company

Stockholm, Sweden – The energy industry in Sweden continues to rely on the ongoing expansion of wind energy. Project developer OX2 has handed over the Riberget wind farm to the energy company Future Generations (Fu-Gen).

The wind farm consists of 11 Siemens Gamesa SG 6.6-170 turbines. These turbines are part of the Siemens Gamesa 5.X platform and each has a rated capacity of 6.6 MW.

The annual production of the Riberget wind farm is estimated at 210 million kWh.

“We are proud to hand over the Riberget wind farm, thereby contributing to strengthening the renewable energy supply. The project was developed in close collaboration with the local municipality, landowners, residents, and our partner Fu-Gen. From the start of the project, we placed a strong emphasis on biodiversity and implemented measures to preserve areas of high natural value and create habitats for endangered species,” said Emelie Zakrisson, Country Manager Sweden at OX2.

OX2 will be responsible for the technical and commercial operation of the wind farm. The company currently has 1,600 MW of wind power under construction across six different markets and manages the technical and commercial operations of facilities with a total capacity of 6,200 MW.

By the end of 2024, Sweden had wind power installations with a capacity of 17,200 MW (2023: 16,250 MW) in operation.
