Nordex Strenghtens Global Presence with New Orders, Early Type Certification and Market Launch in Canada

Hamburg (Germany) - The Nordex Group has announced several new developments across its global operations. These include new turbine orders from Ukraine, Türkiye, Spain and Germany, the early type certification of its N175/6.X turbine, and the introduction of this turbine model to the Canadian market.

New Orders from Four Markets Total Over 450 MW

In the last two weeks; the Nordex Group reported a series of new orders from Ukraine, Türkiye, Spain and Germany with a combined capacity exceeding 450 megawatts. In Ukraine, the company received orders from the OKKO Group for two wind projects with a total capacity of 188.8 MW. From mid-2026, Nordex will supply 32 N163/5.X turbines in a cold climate version. These turbines will be installed on 125-metre tubular steel towers. The projects are located in western Ukraine and include 20-year service agreements.

In Türkiye, Nordex will deliver 14 N163/6.X turbines with a total capacity of 90 MW for the R24-Gürün wind energy project. The project is located north of the Gürün district in Sivas and was developed by ADY Akdeniz Rüzgar Enerjisi Üretim A.?. The turbines will be delivered in a cold climate version with a hub height of 113 metres. The agreement also includes a 10-year Premium Service package.

On the Spanish market, Nordex has received its first order for the N175/6.X turbine in the country. Abei Energy has ordered eight turbines for the 50 MW Avellanosa wind farm located in the Castile and León region. The turbines will be installed on 119-metre tubular steel towers. Installation is planned to begin in late summer 2026, with commissioning scheduled for early 2027. Abei Energy has also signed a 20-year Premium Service contract.

In Germany, the Nordex Group received an order from Wpd for six wind projects with a total capacity of 125.7 MW. The order includes the delivery of 21 turbines across four different types: N163/6.X, N149/5.X, N163/5.X and N133/4.8. The turbines will be installed at project sites in Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Brandenburg, North Rhine-Westphalia and Saxony-Anhalt. Deliveries are scheduled for 2026 and 2027, and the order includes 15-year service agreements.

N175/6.X Turbine Receives Type Certificate Ahead of Schedule

Nordex also reported that the Group has obtained the internationally recognised IECRE Type Certificate for its N175/6.X turbine from TÜV Süd. The certification was issued three months earlier than planned. It confirms that the turbine meets international safety and performance standards as defined by IECRE OD 501. The certification is based on field testing and measurements carried out on the first N175/6.X turbine installed in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, in 2024. This included, among other things, assessments of power performance, mechanical loads, and the durability of components such as rotor blades.

Type certification is considered a prerequisite in many international markets for project approvals and participation in tenders.

N175/6.X Turbine Launched in Canada

Nordex also announced the introduction of the N175/6.X turbine to the Canadian market. Just like the N163/5.X and N163/6.X turbines, the N175/6.X is also offered in a cold climate version and includes the Nordex Advanced Anti-Icing System, designed for reliable operation in temperatures as low as –30°C. Based on the Delta4000 platform, the N175/6.X features a 175-metre rotor and a rated capacity of up to 7 MW.

To date, the Nordex Group has sold over 40 GW of Delta4000 platform turbines worldwide. In North America, the company has commissioned more than 9.3 GW of wind energy capacity and currently has over 1.16 GW under construction.
