Trina Storage Sets Benchmarks in the Battery Storage Market: Company Reaches 6 GWh in Europe and Strengthens Market Position with Elementa Platform

Munich (Germany) - Trina Storage has reached a cumulative project volume of 6 GWh in battery energy storage systems (BESS) across Europe.

According to the company, more than 65 large-scale storage projects have been secured since December 2020. At that time, the provider signed its first European contract for a 50 MWh facility in the United Kingdom.

Since then, projects have followed in Belgium, Germany, Estonia, Greece, the United Kingdom, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania, and Spain. Flagship projects include Sandon Brook, Burwell, Tiln Farm, and Boat of Garten in the United Kingdom; Strübbel and Wetzen in Germany; Rondissone in Italy; and Amyntaio in Greece. According to the company, many of the contracts represent repeat collaborations with existing customers.

“The total project volume of 6 GWh achieved in Europe is a testament to the outstanding work of our European team,” said Gabriele Buccini, Head of Trina Storage Europe. The team has shown “tireless commitment and dedication in securing new contracts.”

From a technological perspective, the company points to the continued development of its Elementa platform. Following the first Elementa system with external battery cells, the Elementa 2 and Elementa 2 Pro models were launched in 2024, featuring in-house LFP cells from Trinasolar. In 2025, Trina Storage also introduced Elementa 3 with higher capacity and enhanced safety features, as well as the AC-coupled solution Elementa Electra.

By the end of 2025, Trina Storage’s global shipments have exceeded 20 GWh. At the same time, the European team grew from eight to more than 65 professionals. With its strong local presence in Europe and a growing global project portfolio, Trina Storage aims to consolidate its position as a reliable, long-term partner for energy storage solutions. The company is regularly listed in the Tier 1 energy storage provider rankings by Bloomberg New Energy Finance, according to Trina Solar, in recognition of its commitment to innovation, outstanding performance, and customer satisfaction.
