France: WPD Windmanager Takes Over Operational Management of WiWi Consult Wind Farm

Bremen, Germany - The WPD Windmanager GmbH & Co. KG has been responsible for the commercial and technical management of the Plouguin wind farm in Brittany, France, since 1 September 2019.

Operator of the wind farm with five Enercon E-66 turbines and a total capacity of 10 megawatts (MW) is WiWi Consult GmbH & Co. KG from Mainz, which will continue to operate the wind farm on the basis of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) after the end of the 15-year period with a fixed feed-in tariff.

“The PPA comes along with certain commitments”, expresses Thomas Zenk, Partner at wiwi consult. “Therefore, we have been searching for an experienced and reliable operations manager, who is always able to fulfill the individual requirements – for example in the range of reaction times. With wpd windmanager we have found such a partner, who is furthermore very well connected on the French market”, he adds. Even before the conclusion of the PPA contract, WPD Windmanager provided advice to WiWi Consult and discussed the essential contents of such an agreement. “For us, it turned out quickly, that we both have similar substantial ideas and that we want to further expand the cooperation within the operational management”, states Zenk.

As the market leader for the commercial and technical management of wind farms, WPD Windmanager GmbH & Co. KG from Bremen has around 405 employees and manages 362 wind farms in Germany and abroad with 2,030 wind turbines and a total output of 4,313 megawatts.
